40 - Lots Happening!!!
Once again I have to apologise for getting behind with my blog. I am pleased to be so busy but sorry for not keeping you all in the loop.
Louise and I did a combined training day on 16th October which was well attended and lovely to meet some new people. We did our last Competition of the year at Higher Merley Farm on 29th October so I would like to say a huge thank you to Tony, Pauline and Tracy for all your help and support though the year. Also thank you to Carol Butter for stewarding the dressage and Kim Hollands for writing for me once again.
We will be doing a new series next year so put these dates in your diary. Saturday 17th March will be a Combined Training Coaching day. Sunday 8th April Combined Training Competition.
Sunday 13th May Show Jumping Training day (Less experienced in the arena with Gilly and more experienced in the field with Louise)
Saturday 23rd June- Dressage Competition. Classes - Walk trot test, Pre, Novice & Elementary as % class.
Some of you may know that I started working at Stocks Farm Riding Centre six weeks ago. I work Tuesday morning and evenings and then teach some of the liveries at other times. It did take me a couple of weeks to get into the swing of half hour lessons as mine are normally 45mins. So I did feel in a slight whirl, especially trying to learn both horses and clients names.
I have to say how impressed I am with Liesas organisational skills, which keeps everything running like clockwork. The horses are totally amazing and a credit to her and cheerful staff. They are so well looked after and nothing is too much trouble to ensure their well-being.
Well done to all the team with Liesa at the helm, Tammy, Charlotte, NVQ Students Sarah, Sophie, Chloe and part –time Instructors Rachel, Katherine, Bev and Liz. (Sorry if I have missed anyone.)
It is lovely to meet some new people and I am enjoying teaching, Ollie, Debbie, Tracey and Rosie who are at livery at Stocks Farm. Keep an eye on the website now you have joined Team Wheeler.
Rommel is starting to improve after his viral infection which hit him very hard after the National Winter Dressage Championships. We did manage to have a lesson the other day and are now trying to build up his fitness and suppleness, with the hope of competing at the Semi final Championships at Kingston Maurward in February 2012.
I have organised some clinics at Tollard Park Equestrian Centre – Jumping on 8th Jan and Dressage on Sunday 5th February. Details under Events and Lesson / Clinics. I promise to keep you all updated more often.

39 - Catching Up
Sorry everyone for getting behind with my blog, I really do not know where the time has gone.
I have been so busy teaching, plus Louise and I spent last weekend training in Exeter with our Herbalife Sponsors. Here we are pictured with Shelly and Alan Kitching receiving our Supervisor Certificates.
We really are thrilled how well our Nutrition and Wellness Company is taking off. We have been taking the products now since April and we feel GREAT. If YOU want to have more energy, lose weight, improve your fitness or gain weight- Give us a ring and book a free wellness Evaluation.
I would like to thank Elaine McDuff for doing a fantastic job of judging all three classes at our last Combined Training Competition on 28th August at Higher Merley Farm.
Many thanks to Sam and Anne for writing and to Tony for moving all the jumps yet again! I would also like to say a huge thank you to Tracy for saving me from the terrifying job of adding up the scores. She does it so fast and leaves me still counting on my fingers, toes and calculator and yes I still get it wrong.
Well done to the winners Class 1 Emily Moore on Walt Disney and Alexandra Moore 2nd on Merry Legs. Class 2 - Sue Spender on Bandelero and Claire Moore 2nd on Tom. Class 3 Sarah Harrington on Anne Tezers Demelza (pictured here on her other ride of the day Lily owned by Debbie Ruddling) and 2nd Emma Albritton on Flash Harry.
I also need to mention some of my clients who have been busy reaching their goals set earlier in the year.

38 - Hectic Summer
It has been a really hectic summer so far, hence no time to update my blog- until today when rain has stopped play! I do not think even the most dedicated of riders would want to be out in this.
Firstly I must add these fantastic pictures that Teresa has put together for me following the lecture demonstration “Dressage through the Levels” back in April and us sending the chq for £240 to WSPA.
I have not been out competing since we did our first medium test back on 22nd May as Rommel has not been feeling quite himself.
Adult camps this year have been such fun and many people have said it was the BEST EVER. Thank you to all for such lovely cards gifts and E-mails – it makes it all worthwhile to know you all enjoyed it so much.
I cannot thank my mum and dad enough for all they did during both camps, especially preparing such fabulous food, always on time and piping hot. THANK YOU
Rob Jones put on an inspiring demonstration for us, bringing his own Lusitania stallion and TB gelding to show us how to introduce different horses to the obstacles used in TREC competitions. At the BHS camp he taught the control of paces and obstacles, then theory of orienteering followed by practical orienteering to the lovely Hardy countryside. Unfortunately two did manage to get lost and we were all fairly relieved when they turned up about 7pm- just in time for the vaulting. Thank you to Pete, Jane and the very famous Henry horse.
Thank you also to Louise & Tamzen for your expert tuition, patients and understanding, especially to Louise for staying calm when all was falling apart in the musical ride, not to mention any names Lynn Kelly!!
Make sure you get booked on to our next Combined Training Competition at Higher Merley Farm 28th August. Classes start at 1ft to 2ft 9in.
Enjoy the summer.

37 - Combined Training Competition 29th May
It was certainly a blustery day for our 2nd competition at Higher Merley Farm on 29th May.
Well done to our worthy winners, Class 1 Claire Moore and Tom, class 2 Emily Farwell on Liberty Quest and class 3 Nadine Carcary on Valentine Zola.
I would like to say a big thank you to our sponsors D & G Equestrian Supplies, Longthorns Farm and www.aherbalifestyle.com/ to Claire Speer for judging for us again and our helpers Tracey Tucker & Kim Hollands for writing and Sonia Curley and Tracey Upshall for stewarding and helping me with the scoring in between calling competitors.
Once again Beryl’s food hall was opened and sold a fair few slices of cake and cups of tea. Thank you also to Tony for getting all the jumps out on his tractor- it would be such hard work lugging the jumps to the field.
Following a few requests we have decided to change the schedule for our next three competitions and replace the novice test with preliminary level 15, for those of you who want to jump bigger but do not feel ready for novice level dressage. The competition dates for your diary are: - 28th August, 18th September and 29th October.
Still two days left to make a late entry into our competition on Saturday 25th June- Email me first to confirm. firstname.lastname@example.org

35 - On a Roll
I was so excited when Claire Speer said that I could use her Elementary Music for Rommel. As usual it was a bit last minute so I only had a brief run through before the competition. I think this works better for me as less time to get stressed.
Rommel just loves the music and seems to rise to the occasion. He was so lovely to ride in the test at Kingston Maurward on 27th March and Louise even said that I rode well ( how lovely a complement!!) We had a good score of 73.54%. I was sure I could qualify on that!
Not to be as I was pushed into 3rd place with only the first two qualifying.
Having got over my disappointment, I was unpacking the lorry when I had a call from Julie the event secretary ringing to say that the person in 2nd place had already qualified so it was passed down to me. Wow how lucky am I.
Looking forward now to the Regional Championships in February 2012 and the National Championships on 13th April 2011
Move to the next blog entry- combined Training
