Background

Gilly WheelerGilly lives in Verwood, Dorset and trained to be an instructor whilst working full time in her parents catering business. Gilly was an active member of the Pony Club and represented the Portman branch in dressage and horse trials, qualifying for the championships in the latter as an individual. She quickly progressed and successful competed in affiliated horse trials up to an including Open Intermediate.

Workings for her parents allowed time to compete, and train part time to become a riding instructor. Passing the BHSA I in 1982 and BHS II in 1988.

Gilly began competing horses for several owners and really enjoyed training with Melanie Norris, progressing through the levels with good results, qualifying at Regional and National finals and gaining points at FEI PSG and therefore becoming a group 3 rider.

Having gained experience at horse trails, Gilly worked really hard on her show jumping and successfully passed the BHSI in 1999.

Gilly purchased Donnerrhythm in November 2009. (Pictured Top Right). He is a 17hh warmblood by Donnersong. They started competing in 2010 and have qualified for both summer and winter Regional championships and came 4th at the Dressage Masters Championships at Hickstead 2010.
